In addition of being a HypnoBirthing® practitioner, I am a certified hypnotherapist and
Neuro-Linguistic Programming practitioner.
People are often scared of the word hypnosis because they believe that this is a time when their mind is being controlled. This is a complete misconception. Hypnosis is a natural state of altered consciousness, similar to daydreaming for example, that a hypnotherapist guides you into. The great point is that by interacting directly with your subconscious, it can be used for self-improvement.
A hypnotherapist cannot make you do something that you don't want. That's why your own desire to change is required for the therapy to work.
Hypnotherapy can help you deal with many physical, psychological or emotional difficulties, for example:
psychological trauma, grief and loss,
compulsion (including smoking),
stress or anxiety,
preparation for surgery,
preparation for childbirth (independently of the HypnoBirthing® classes),
preparation for exam or job application...
It can be beneficial to many physical issues, complementing your existing medical treatment (quicker recovery, boosting your immune system, your confidence and so on).
