I was pretty sceptical and suspicious but my midwife was very experienced and down to earth, so I had a look on the web. After reading about it, I thought it was definitely worth a try. And it changed my life.
My baby's birth took 5-hour, listening to the HypnoBirthing® music, using a TENS machine for some time and finally a birthing pool. Nothing more. My daughter was born at home in water, and her birth was the most amazing experience I have ever had.
After my beautiful birth experience, I was so sad to recall the stories of my friends who all had such a traumatic experience for the birth of their first baby. I really thought that if parents and especially women had the right information, tools and support, there would be no way birth could be so traumatic, whatever the circumstances.
So I decided to train as a HypnoBirthing® practitioner. And the training deepened my understanding of the techniques and the philosophy, and as I got more and more interested in the mind and body relationship and the power of the mind, I decided to train as a hypnotherapist.
Finally my second daughter was born in 2012 - a beautiful, calm, 6-hour home water birth, in the presence of my first daughter. And my third daughter joined us in 2014, another magical family home birth... Birth is really the most natural thing in the world...
What I love about my work is that I offer tools to parents so that they can make their own confident, informed decisions for their own lives.
My name is Cécile, I'm French, and I initially trained as a research scientist. So, there's no need to tell you that I'm very down to earth, practical, focused on science and on results.... but being a mother and having a busy life I recognise the importance of being adaptable and attentive to myself and the people around me.
When I became pregnant, I knew I wanted a birth that was as natural as possible and my community midwife mentioned “HypnoBirthing”, advising me to look into it because they had seen fantastic results with Mums giving birth with the minimum of intervention and only paracetamol as pain relief.
